PERSONALITY.
In short, a bitch a with a relationship status of "it's complicated" with everyone that she's ever cared about.
Catra is acat person who has lived the majority of her life in someone else's shadow. She has always been considered to be Second Best—that is, if she is even getting any consideration at all. It's common place for her to be overlooked and her actions to go unnoticed. The individual who raised her, Shadow Weaver, always saw her as little more than a pest. She was just someone kept around at the behest of Shadow Weaver's favoured adopted child, Adora, and Shadow Weaver never hesitated to remind her of that. She also never hesitated to discipline her, hit her, belittle her, or otherwise treat her as little more than a barely useful tool.
This sort of upbringing has left her bitter and insecure, particularly in social situations. Catra believes herself to have value as a weapon, as a tool, and as a soldier, but not as an individual. She is someone who craves recognisation and validation, making her hell-bent on making sure that she excels as a soldier—if that's the only thing she can get acknowledgment for then she's going to own it. She had, admittedly, never tried very hard to make friends either. She had been content with the one single friend she did have, but she stops trying completely after that same friend leaves her behind. A huge defining point for Catra is the fact that Adora, her only friend and the only person to ever show her affection, had run off to join the Rebellion.
Nothing else that had ever happened to her up to this point affected her as strongly as this did. Catra had always believed that she could get through anything as long as she had Adora at her side, but Adora had left at the literal first opportunity. Catra takes this exceptionally hard because without her, there wasn't anyone else who cared about her. Initially, she had been willing to forgive Adora and tried to forcefully take her back by attacking her with a stun baton, but later she develops that idea that Adora had seen her just as everyone else did. Catra was just her sidekick and Adora was the shining star.
This instance springboards Catra into much of the person she becomes. She becomes completely enthralled with the idea of defeating Adora, wanting to shatter any hope that others might have had in Adora being their saviour. She also wants to prove herself to not only be her equal, but her superior. Everything about her centres on this point and it is her motivation behind every action she take, so much so that it leaves no room for anything else. She is so heavily engrossed with this desire that she is more than willing to destroy the entire planet of Etheria and everyone on it (including herself) with an unstable portal for the sake of putting Adora in the ground.
Eventually, she comes to terms with what kind of person that her obsession with besting Adora had turned her into. The guilt and shame of it almost breaks her entirely, pushing her to her absolute lowest point because it costs her everything she managed to achieve. Her rank, her position, the people she had surrounded herself with, and any sense of happiness she might have had. She encourages an enemy to kill her after this, ready to be put of her misery, but she's spared instead. From the ashes of her breakdown, Catra starts trying to become a better person. She tries to give her life to save someone else citing that she at least "wanted to do one good thing" with her, make an effort to try to become friends or at least cordial with many of her previous enemies, apologises for many of her wrongs, and starts helping the Rebellion fix much of the damage she had caused and chaos she'd set into motion.
Unfortunately, the most tragic part about this is that Catra has always been just as capable as everyone else is, including Adora. There are even some areas that she excels over Adora in, making her both a fearsome and formidable enemy who nearly defeated the Rebellion as a whole on multiple occasions. Catra might be wild and unpredictable, but she is also analytical and a brilliant strategist. She is is capable of pinpointing her enemies weakness and using it against them without hesitation, manipulative and charming enough to turn situations to her advantage, callous enough to direct and utilise soldiers like the weapons they are supposed to be, and unflinching even in dire situations. She knows when to fight, when to stall, and when to cut her losses to run away to fight another day—although, she is by no means a coward. Catra doesn't back down from a fight or a challenge, facing them head-on; she just isn't stupid. She won't waste her time on pointless fights or keep pushing for a battle that has already been lost. Instead, she focuses on how to turn it to her advantage.
She can be ruthless, willing to use any means to achieve her goals. It doesn't matter if people get hurt, things get blown up, or even if she throws her life or other's on the line. Any means necessary is fine for her as long as she gets the desired result. Catra's focus and determination are second to none to the point that she often fails to divert her attention to other things or people that deserve it. As a Force Captain in the Horde, she frequently failed to do her own paperwork to the point of detriment and hardship because she had decided it wasn't worth her time to do it. Catra is, as had already been made clear, a slave to her emotions. She feels things very strongly, both positively and negatively, and it frequently blinds her to anything else. In this state, she fails to listen to anyone or anything, only what she feels, and it is the biggest reason behind many of her mistakes—most particularly because she's also incredibly stubborn and will dig her heels in.
It is something that Catra, herself, recognises and now strives to improve upon. For everything she has lived through and the general tragedy of her life, she does ultimately desire to be a good person and a good friend. She doesn't want to be a person who isn't worthy of love or someone who viciously lashes out at others.
She wants to be better.

SKILLS.
Catra has no magical abilities of her own. She is instead both very mentally and physically adept. She is a commanding leader, an excellent strategist, and very resilient. As a result of her species (which we never receive more details about), she also possesses many catlike qualities and abilities. This includes claws on her hands and feet, sharp teeth, and enhanced physical qualities (strength, agility, senses, and instinct).
Additionally, she is quick to learn almost any weapon she picks up.
VILEBLOOD.
After reforming in Trench, Catra's blood has been permanently altered. Her blood has now taken on a deep green colour and smells strongly of flowers once spilt. This alteration of her blood has also provided her with the following:
◆ Poison Secretion
From underneath her claws, Catra is able to secrete poison to coat her claws or other objects with. In low doses, her poison will cause mild to moderate hallucinations and higher doses will corrode flesh and objects. Extended use of this ability will temporarily numb her extremities, working its way inward, and further usage will permanently start to damage her nerves.
◆ Altered Physiology
Higher pain tolerance, immune to most poisons, and capable of receiving healing benefits by ingesting blood.
◆ Blood Manipulation
At the beginning stages, Catra will be able to manipulate spilt blood into objects (e.g. knives, stakes, potentially even a wall with enough blood). As/if she develops this ability, she'll gain more precise control and be able to manipulate blood still flowing in the veins of her enemies or her own, should that be necessary.

MELOG.
A mysterious alien from one of the many planets devastated by Horde Prime, the tyrannical emperor of the known universe. Melog is the last of its kind, but has found kinship with Catra and now travels at her side. Their bond allows for Melog to communicate telepathically to her, channel her emotions, and have a basic sense of her presence. Since forming this bond, Melog takes on a more feline-like appearance.
When upset, the blue energy that makes up Melog's mane and tail turn red and sharp along with its eyes and tongue.
Melog possesses a variety of abilities including: shapeshifting, powerful illusions that can alter large areas, telekinesis, telepathy, emotional sensing, and invisibility.
